Ontario reports 1,145 new COVID-19 cases in the last two days

Ontario reported an additional 1,145 cases of COVID-19 from the last two days on Tuesday.
Due to the long weekend of Labor Day, the state released two days’ worth of data this morning. A total of 581 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday, and an additional 564 were reported on Tuesday.
Of the 581 cases reported on Monday, those with known vaccination status:
- 351 or 60.4 percent were unvaccinated.
- 64, or 11 percent, were single doses.
- 124, or 21.3 percent, was given twice.
Of the 564 cases reported on Tuesday with known vaccination status:
- 339, or 6 0.1%, were unvaccinated.
- 37, or 6.5 percent, were single doses.
- 130, or 23 percent, were two doses.
For many Ontario students, returning to school after summer vacation is the first day.
Classes will resume today at committees such as the Bluewater District Board of Education, the Niagara District Board of Education, and the Halton District Board of Education.
Several other committees, including the largest Toronto school district school board, will start classes on Thursday.
This is the third year the class has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ontario Ministry of Education has sent guidelines to schools to slow the spread of the virus. This includes the requirement that staff and students self-screen COVID-19 daily and wear masks indoors.
The ministry also called for all committees to offer distance learning options for students who do not feel comfortable in the classroom due to a pandemic.

State-wide test positive rate: 3.4 percent.
Currently infected (number): 6,272.
ICU patients With COVID related illness: 165, 113 require a ventilator to breathe.
Dead (number): Five more people died, bringing the death toll to 9,553.
vaccination: 14,391 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered by the public health department on Monday. About 77.2 percent of eligible Ontarians, or people over the age of 12, are currently taking two doses. This represents 68.3 percent of the state’s total population.
