Delta Plus variants found in 8 states
(((WGHP) – A new form of COVID-19 delta variant has been discovered in eight states in the United States. CBS News..
The name is AY.4.2, but it is also called “Delta Plus”. Variations were found in the lab in the following states:
- California
- Florida
- Maryland
- Massachusetts
- Nevada
- North Carolina
- Rhode Island
- Washington
Health authorities in the District of Columbia have also reported at least one case of AY.4.2.
New strains are being investigated by British health authorities and they say the number of cases is increasing. A small percentage of US COVID cases in the last few weeks have been associated with DeltaPlus, and US health authorities are working to study it.
