MEXICO CITY (Reuters)-Mexican Deputy Minister of Health said Tuesday that the new coronavirus reached its maximum intensity in the country after the minister reported a record increase in daily cases.
The MHLW said on Tuesday there were an additional 3,891 cases of coronavirus and more than 470 deaths.
This resulted in a total of 97,326 known cases and 10,637 deaths. Health officials say the actual number of cases is higher.
“The coronavirus epidemic has reached its highest level,” Hugo Lopez Götel, who led the response to the outbreak, said at regular press conferences.
Lopez-Gatell added that the decline in the incident was slower than the normal rise.
