Portland, Oregon (KPTV) – Health officials in Washington are urging people to carry naloxone because of the surge in deaths from overdose. The Washington State Department of Health said it wants everyone to carry naloxone to prevent death from opioid overdose. Naloxone is a drug that rapidly reverses opioid overdose and comes in two forms: nasal drops or intramuscular kits.
Emily Skogrand, an OHSU clinical pharmacist, said: Skogrand said overdose can manifest itself in many ways.
