Avian flu outbreak at Cherokee County facility infects 103,000 turkeys
The second bird flu outbreak in a week was reported Sunday, infecting about 103,000 turkeys in Cherokee County in northwest Iowa.

The latest infections in Iowa are the first since December, when a flock of backyard chickens was infected. The infections also came after the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in March that the virus had jumped from poultry to cattle. Found in dairy herds in Texas and Kansas.
