Cobaxin animal studies have produced a “strong immune response”: Bharat Biotech
Bharat Biotech began human experimentation with Covidin, a candidate for the Covid-19 vaccine, in mid-July.

Bharat Biotech tested vaccine candidates in four groups of 20 rhesus monkeys. The primates were given the “double dose vaccination regimen of the inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine”.
“One group received placebo, but three groups were immunized with three different vaccine candidates on days 0 and 14. All macaques were exposed to viral attack 14 days after the second dose. “The vaccine maker said.
“The results showed protective effects and increased SARS-CoV-2 specific IgG and neutralizing antibodies,” the company added, adding that it reduced viral replication in monkey nasal, throat, and lung tissue.
He added that no evidence of pneumonia was observed in the vaccinated group.

What is Kovacin?
Covacin is at the forefront of the competition to find a Covid-19 vaccine.
Covacin is an “inactivated” vaccine. It is made using dead Covid-19 virus particles and cannot be infected or replicated by the injected virus. By injecting these particles, Bharat Biotech said it builds immunity by helping the body make antibodies against dead viruses.
The human trial of Kovacin began in mid-July. In the first week of September, vaccine manufacturers received approval from drug regulators to move covaxin to the second phase of human experimentation.
Each stage of a vaccine’s clinical trial tests its safety and ability to generate an effective immune response. The first phase focuses on the safety of healthy participants, while the second phase looks at effectiveness. The third phase explores these aspects of a much larger population that represents a wide range of demographics.
