Lewis County COVID-19 Update | News
As of 3:00 pm on November 20, the Lewis County Health Department updated the county’s weekly COVID-19 number. Staff Report: Confirmed Cases: 177; Active Confirmed Cases: 11; Possible Cases: 36; Possible Active Cases: 17; Confirmation of Recovery: 164; Possibility of Recovery: 19; Hospitalization: 3; Death: 2 people.
Last week, a second positive case was confirmed at Peterson Central Elementary School. Robert L. Brand Junior High School, Leading Creek Elementary School and Roanoke Elementary School reported positive cases of COVID-19 at school. All schools in Lewis County are currently receiving direct instruction four days a week.
State Superintendent Clayton Burch said on November 19 that distance learning does not help students learn and should be taught directly as long as the district can.
