Sacramento, Calif. (KTXL) — With the distribution of the new Moderna vaccine, healthcare professionals are trying to alleviate concerns about the side effects of receiving injections.
This is why the Roseville Satter Health ICU doctor recorded his vlog vaccination experience.
Dr. Vanessa Walker obtained her COVID-19 vaccine on Friday. She and others treating patients with COVID-19ICU were eager to be protected from the virus killing them.
Family safety was in their hearts, and 12 hours later, Walker’s children helped her remove the bandages.
“Oh, I can’t even say anything was there, it doesn’t hurt,” Walker said. “It hurts a little, but otherwise it’s pretty good.”
By bedtime a few hours later, she reported, “I started feeling a little tired and tired, and started to feel a little like myalgia and other muscles and parts of my joints.”
However, the pain was mild at 24 hours.
“Hey, listen? I feel perfectly normal. I don’t have fever, muscle aches, or fatigue,” she told the audience.
And at 48 hours, she had a slight pain in her arm, as she did after being vaccinated against the flu.
“It can save your life and your loved ones,” Walker said.
Today, at 72 hours, my arm pain was gone. She said getting vaccines and boosters would be a relief for ICU workers who are worried about bringing the virus back to their families.
“After taking the second shot, it will be a great sigh of relief,” she said.
Still, hospital workers and their patients still feel the devastating effects of the virus, she added.
“They are rushing to the emergency department. It takes a long time to pull them away from oxygen, or unfortunately they are dying,” she told FOX40.
According to Walker, the vaccine is still a light at the end of a long tunnel, if it’s available when people can get it.
She added that the Sutter ICU sees more patients in the so-called low COVID-19 risk group, patients in their 30s and 40s.
