Orange County reports 2 deaths and 4,406 new cases of coronavirus
Orange County reported two deaths and 4,406 new cases on Wednesday, with the latest data provided by the Orange County Healthcare Agency regarding coronavirus infections.
The county now has 1,781 deaths from the virus-induced disease COVID-19, increasing the cumulative number of cases to 134,820.
Public health officials have repeatedly warned of gathering throughout the holiday season. On Wednesday Christmas day, there were only two days, and the number of medical institutions showed 1,854 hospitalizations throughout the county, of which 394 patients were treated in the intensive care unit.
An additional 21,535 tests were reported yesterday, bringing the total number of tests conducted throughout the county to 1,906,582.
Authorities estimate that 77,076 people in the county recovered after being infected with the virus.

The county has an average of 51.8 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants per day, with a positive test rate of 15.2%. These numbers are delayed by 7 days.
