MA reports 5,657 and 74 deaths and reduced positive test rates
Massachusetts — The Massachusetts Public Health Service reported 5,657 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, bringing the state-wide total to 444,028 cases. 74 new deaths have been confirmed. The state’s death toll from the coronavirus is currently 13,305.
However, the positive rate continued to decline from January 1st, with a 7-day average dropping to 6.15%, the lowest level since December 22nd.
Hospitalizations showed the same trend, with 2,197 coronavirus patients in hospitals on Friday, down from 2,428 on January 4. Of these, 433 are in the intensive care unit and 294 are intubated.
