Approximately 2,000 new cases reported Saturday as COVID-19 mutants found in Michigan | Coronavirus

Nearly 2,000 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Michigan on Saturday as the first case of the UK COVID-19 mutant B.1.1.7 was found in a woman in Washtenaw County. According to the state website A press release issued by the Michigan State Police (MSP).

In Michigan, there were 1,932 new cases of the virus and 103 new deaths from the virus, for a total of 535,534 cases and 13,804 deaths.

At least 90 of the 103 new deaths confirmed on Tuesday were identified during a review of important records conducted regularly by the state.

These counts exclude cases and deaths that may be associated with COVID-19 and include only confirmed cases and deaths.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Research Institute identified a subspecies of Michigan on Saturday. It is believed to be more contagious.

A woman who had a case of a new COVID-19 variant is believed to have recently traveled to the United Kingdom where the variant occurred.

Upon being notified of the discovery, two new cases were also discovered in close contact with an individual currently in quarantine.

Compared to normal strains of coronavirus, there are no signs that it affects clinical outcome or disease severity. However, if new variants are widely available, higher infection rates can lead to more hospitalizations and more deaths from the virus.

Based on the available evidence, current tests and vaccines against conventional strains will work against new mutants as well as current protective measures.

Health officials are also tracking the results of state-wide tests. To date, 8,902,388 diagnostic tests have been performed.

As of Friday, a total of 442,408 Missiganders had recovered from COVID-19 (30 days after the onset of the disease). Totals are updated by state every Saturday.

According to Johns Hopkins UniversityOn Saturdays around the world, the number of cases exceeded 94.2 million and the number of deaths exceeded 2.01 million.

In the United States, more than 23 million cases have been reported and more than 393,000 are associated with the disease.

Michigan is ranked as the eighth state in the United States, with New York having the highest total death toll.

According to Johns Hopkins, California is the number one case, and the state is also the 14th case in the country.

Oakland County first occurred in the Detroit area on Saturday, with 249 newest cases and 13 new deaths, for a total of 59,156 cases and 1,712 deaths in the county.

Wayne County was then followed by 235 new cases and 10 new deaths, for a total of 59,227 cases and 1,895 deaths.

Macomb County followed with 123 new cases and 16 deaths, for a total of 50,932 cases and 1,678 deaths.

In addition, the city of Detroit reported 122 new cases and 6 new deaths, with 27,548 cases and 1,755 deaths.

In central Michigan, Isabella County has no new cases, with one new death, a total of only 3,345 cases, and a total death toll of 60.

In Gratiot County, there were 3 new cases and 2 new deaths, for a total of 2,334 and 87 cases in the county.

Clare County also cited the same total of 1,217 cases and 57 deaths as the previous day. This means that there were no new cases or deaths.

The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) cited 85 new cases and 1 new death, for a total of 22,295 and 133 deaths.

In Kent County, there were a cumulative total of 44,611 cases and 563 deaths after 124 new cases and 4 new deaths were reported.
