There was one childhood influenza death reported to the CDC this year.
Dr. Yancey says that continuing some of the strategies adopted this year, such as masking, can save tens of thousands of lives.
“Nursing homes, schools – these may be good targets for masking to move forward. To be honest, I think I’ll wear this during the flu season for the rest of my career,” she said.
