Waterloo region reports 27 new COVID-19 cases, with active cases rising to 313
The Waterloo Regional Public Health Department reported 27 new cases COVID-19 (new coronavirus infection) (# If there is no character limit, add parentheses when it first appears On Monday, we increased the number of cases to 10,338.
There are 313 active cases of COVID-19, 3 more than the previous day.
This includes 18 hospitals currently receiving treatment for the new coronavirus, 6 in the intensive care unit.
The 222 deaths in the area on Monday remained unchanged, with 9,847 recovering from the disease.
The number of activities that have occurred in the area has not changed, and 22 are currently underway.
The region announced on Monday that the number of cases of variants continues to grow and that 32 cases are currently identified.
Four cases were identified as the first B.1.1.7 variants detected in the United Kingdom. An additional 28 cases were screened positive for the variant, but the specific variant has not yet been determined.
The latest COVID-19 vaccinations show that 13,093 people have been vaccinated twice with the Pfizer vaccine, for a total of 28,468 vaccinations.

This means that 2.22 percent of the region’s population is fully vaccinated against the disease.
