56 new COVID cases and 2 outbreaks declared in the region
Public health in the Waterloo region reported 56 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday afternoon.
With this latest update, the total number of COVID-19 cases since March will be 10,960.
Since Friday, the number of active cases has increased from 372 to 382.
Other updates from the COVID Summary Dashboard in the Waterloo region on Saturday include:
- 10,334 resolved cases (94%).
- 232 people have died in areas associated with the virus. The latest was confirmed on March 5th.
- Currently 37 cases are hospitalized (6 cases in the ICU).
- 13,309 people in the area have been fully vaccinated.
Currently, 25 outbreaks are active in this area.
