Retinal scan technology identifies autism in early childhood

Scientists in Hong Kong have developed a method that uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to scan the retina of children up to 6 years of age to detect early autism or the risk of autism. I want to develop a product this year.
Professor Benny Gee of the Chinese University of Hong Kong said eye scans of the retina may help in early detection of children and improved outcomes.

Seventy children were tested using this technology, 46 with autism and 24 in the control group. This technology has a 95.7% chance of identifying a child with autism. The average age tested was 13 and the youngest was 6.
Zee’s findings were published in the peer-reviewed medical journal EClinical Medicine.
