Britain’s wider Covid-19 deaths exceeded 150,000 in mid-March

New figures show that more than 150,000 people in the UK have Covid-19 on their death certificates.

The tough milestone passed on March 18, but is currently being confirmed due to the time it takes for the death to be registered.

Numbers released by the National Bureau of Statistics (ONS) show that 150,116 coronavirus-related deaths have occurred in the United Kingdom since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The total includes all deaths for which Covid-19 is listed on the death certificate, including suspicious cases.

ONS figures give an overview of how the Covid-19 pandemic occurred in the United Kingdom so far.

These are more comprehensive deaths than the government’s daily announcement, which currently totals 126,615, counting only those who died within 28 days of being tested positive for coronavirus.

Of the 150,116 coronavirus-related deaths reported by ONS, 55,407 (37%) have occurred since the start of 2021.

The highest number of deaths on January 19 was 1,469.

During the first wave of the virus, daily death toll peaked on April 8, 2020 with 1,461 deaths.

However, this figure shows that the number of deaths has dropped dramatically in recent weeks.

The cumulative total exceeded 100,000 on January 7, reaching 125,000 on January 26, just 19 days later.

After that, it took another 51 days to reach 150,000.

The daily death toll was below 400 on February 22, below 300 on February 26, and below 200 on March 7.

ONS figures are up to March 19th and may be revised upward as more deaths are registered.

Analysis of ONS data by PA News Agency shows that:

– Using the end of August 2020 as the boundary between the first and second waves, 57,832 people died in the first wave and 92,284 people died in the second wave.

– Over 1,000 Covid-19 outbreaks occurred daily for 24 consecutive days in January. During the first wave of the virus, the daily death toll in April exceeded 1,000 for 23 consecutive days.

– 33,684 deaths associated with Covid-19 occurred in the four weeks to February 1, 2021. Maximum number of deaths in the four weeks since the start of the pandemic.

– England, Wales and Northern Ireland each had the highest number of daily deaths in the second wave of the pandemic (January 19, 11 and 17, respectively), while Scotland’s “worst day” Was the first wave (April 9th).
