IDPH reports 1,959 new cases of COVID-19, 22 new deaths
53% of Illinois over the age of 18 and 50% over the age of 16 have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination.
Springfield, Illinois (WMBD) — Monday, April 19, the Illinois Public Health Service (IDPH) reported 1,959 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the state and 22 cases, including three from Peoria County. Reported a new death.
- Cook County: 1 woman in her 50s, 3 men in her 50s, 2 men in her 60s, 1 man in her 70s, 3 men in her 80s, 2 women in her 90s
- DuPage County: 1 woman in her 50s, 1 woman in her 80s
- Mason County: One man in his 60s
- Peoria County: 1 woman in her 60s, 1 man in her 70s, 1 man in her 80s
- St. Clair County: 1 woman in the 80’s
- Will County: 1 man in his 60s, 1 woman in his 80s
- Winnebago County: 1 man in his 50s
Currently, IDPH reports a total of 1,304,200 cases, including 21,685 deaths.
Within the last 24 hours, the institute has reported a total of 21,776,820 47,506 specimens. As of Sunday night, 2,128 people in Illinois were reported hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 491 patients were in the ICU and 227 COVID-19 patients were on mechanical ventilation.
The preliminary 7-day state-wide positive rate for the case as a percentage of all tests from April 12-18 is 4%.
