3.6% county positive rate
The Indiana Department of Health announced on Friday that 5,063 Jackson County residents tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of two from Thursday’s total.
According to the department’s COVID-19 dashboard, Jackson County’s positive rate was 3.6%, down 0.2% from 3.8% on Thursday.
The rate is determined by a 7-day moving average with a 6-day lag to give time to receive comprehensive results. The county’s current positive rate is May 15-21.
After the ISDH county metric map was updated on Wednesday, Jackson counties will be classified as level 0.5 counties and blue level threats.
No COVID-19 deaths were reported in Jackson County on Friday, with 74 deaths in the county.
Since March 18, 2020, 19,388 people in the county have undergone 58,921 COVID tests, an increase of 59 from Thursday’s total.
The latest results are as of Thursday 11:59 pm. The Coronavirus Dashboard is updated daily at noon.
Also on Friday, the state’s COVID-19 vaccination dashboard showed that 15,485 or 35% of the 44,231 residents of Jackson County received the first COVID-19 vaccine and 15,191 or 34.3% of the county’s residents were fully vaccinated. I reported that I was inoculated.
