177 new cases reported in Oregon, 3 new dead
The Oregon Department of Health reported 177 new cases of COVID-19 and 3 new deaths.
This brings the state’s cumulative number of infections to 201,649 and deaths to 2,674.
Polk County is one of Oregon’s 19 counties, with no daily new cases reported. Marion County reported 25.
New cases in other counties include Benton (1), Clackamas (11), Colombia (3), Crook (3), Deschutz (9), Douglas (7), Jefferson (1), Josephine (2), and Clackamas (2). 5)), Lane (20), Lynn (4), Multnomah (35), Warois (1), Wasco (1), Washington (48), Yang Hill (1).
There were 238 inpatients with COVID-19 on Tuesday. Of these, 67 received intensive care and 38 were on mechanical ventilation.
Oregon has received an average of 22,982 COVID-19 vaccines per day over the past week.
As of Tuesday, 1.9 million people in Oregon had completed a series of vaccines and 2.2 million had at least one vaccination.
The newly reported deaths are:
- A 59-year-old man from Lane County died at home on May 28, with a positive test on May 21. He had an underlying illness.
- A 75-year-old man from Douglas County who tested positive on May 12 and died at the Mercy Medical Center on May 30. The existence of underlying disease has been confirmed.
- A 46-year-old man from Lane County died on May 14 at the Mackenzie Willamette Medical Center after a positive test. He had an underlying illness.
