British media reported this weekend that Prince Harry is expected to leave the UK within hours of his father’s accession to the throne.

Charles’ younger son confirmed two weeks ago that he was attending the coronation ceremony in London next Saturday, but now it’s revealed that Harry plans to stay in London for only 24 hours.

This will allow him to fly out of his California home on Friday to attend the coronation ceremony, which runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and then return to the air between 2 and 3 p.m. The 10-hour flight home lands California in the early evening local time, allowing him to attend his son Archie’s fourth birthday.

Prince Harry’s travel plans are kept secret for security reasons, and British media previously reported that security concerns at the event were one of the main reasons Prince Harry delayed confirming his attendance.
