Some forecasters have suggested parts of the UK will be 'as hot as Ibiza' next week, with temperatures expected to rise.

Sky News reported a maximum temperature of 24°C in the south and 29°C in London. This beats the expected temperature of 25°C in Spanish holiday hotspot Ibiza.

Sky News meteorologist Chris England said the weather would become increasingly warmer and wetter later this weekend and early next week.

The Met Office also said high temperatures in some parts of the country were expected to reach 29C next week, with 'widespreadly stable and humid conditions' remaining.

Temperatures around the country early next week are as follows:

Monday 4pm

Temperatures across the south-east on Monday will peak at around 25 degrees, with London and surrounding areas being warmest around 4pm. (Meteorological Administration)

Further north, Gainsborough, Lincoln, Sheffield and Doncaster are among areas of the UK where temperatures will hit highs of up to 25C on Monday, according to forecasters. (Meteorological Administration)

Tuesday 4pm

The warmest weather over the next few days will arrive around 4pm on Tuesday, with temperatures reaching 26 degrees west of London and parts of Surrey, including Guildford and Slough. (Meteorological Administration)

In the north on Tuesday, temperatures will rise to 25 degrees in parts of Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire by around 4pm. (Meteorological Administration)

According to the Manchester Evening News, the Met Office predicted 'warm or very warm weather' for Scotland, Northern Ireland, parts of the North West, Wales and south-west England from Monday (24 June) to Thursday (27 June). He said he would appear. Highs will reach 22C to 24C for several days, with areas including the East and West Midlands and the South East experiencing 'typical summer heat' with peaks of between 25C and 27C.
