The Texas measles epidemic develops as we exceed the number of cases from 2024

The measles epidemic in Texas has increased by 36 cases, pushing the number of cases in the United States for the year after the number for all 2024.

The third had a vaccination reaction which imitated an infection of measles and was removed from the number of cases.

In New Mexico, on the other hand, the number of cases in the epidemic of this state has increased by two and is now at 35 years old. Of these patients, 33 are either non -vaccinated or have an unknown vaccine status. Thirty-three cases are in the county of Lea, which borders the county of Gaines in Texas, and 2 are in the county of Eddy Voisin.

Officials of the two states claim that additional cases are likely to occur in epidemics due to the very contagious nature of the disease and urge people to be vaccinated. Two doses of the ROR vaccine are 97% effective against measles.

More than 300 cases nationwide

Nationally, a total of 301 cases of measles have been reported by 15 jurisdictions, according to an update today of the centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A total of 285 cases were reported in all 2024.

Fifty of patients (17%) were hospitalized and two deaths related to measles were reported for the year. In addition to the deceased child in Texas, New Mexico health officials reported last week that their laboratory had confirmed the presence of the virus in an unvaccinated adult who died recently.
