According to a new report, the majority of suspects of the abuse of home abuse, where the victim took his life, is known to the police.

In the past four years, 92%of the suspects have been known to the authorities for suicide in domestic abuse. One police chief has been known to the authorities as “many terrible things” that the military and other institutions can “learn and improve” to prevent future deaths.

Louisa Rolfe, a metropolitan police assistant professor and police officer of police police for domestic abuse, said, “I'm really worried.”

She told SKY NEWS that the number of deaths in the domestic environment was “a problem that is very difficult and difficult to deal with.”

Jess Phillips, a minister of protection and violence against women and girls, said the situation in the political hub with Sky's political hub will not change overnight. But the government said it will announce a strategy for dealing with VAWG in the summer.

The report on England and Wales also shows that the number of people who take their lives after family abuse is higher than the number of victims who have died for two years.

Until March 12, 2024, 98 people were suspected of their lives under domestic abuse, and 80 were killed by partners, according to the National Police Commission report.

In 79%of suspected suicide cases, victims and perpetrators were known to other institutions such as mental health services and family abuse experts.

Since 2020, the most common form of death in the domestic environment has been suicide by domestic violence.

ROLFE said the trend is “very sad.”

“We have been working with other institutions and we are really hard at work together to understand how to prevent this sad death.

Victims 'not protected'

Deborah Jones runs a small home abuse charity in Barnsley and works with victims from all over the country.

She says that 90%of her supported women have committed suicide, and “many numbers” attempted their lives because they can't see the way.

“I'm not protected after seeing what's happening to them,” she said. “When they are recommended, no one wants to catch them.

“They are just recommended for other services. It is delivered by mail from the pillar.”

Sky News joined the support session as the victims talked about their experiences.

Others said that they were “mentally sick,” and that domestic violence could be “recurrence”.

One woman said she was asked to repeat her story in one day.

Kiena Dawes, Jessica Laverack and Kellie Sutton are three young women who have killed their lives following the history of family abuse.

Ryan Wellings was the first defendant in the UK to be trial for illegally killing partners after suicide after domestic violence.

Kiena condemned her partner for her death with suicide memo. He learned of her murder, but was sentenced to six and a half years in prison.

After the investigation into Jessica and Kelly's death, the inspectors prevented the future death report.

In the case of Kelly, the inspector said that “concerns” included “lack of understanding of control and forced behavior.” […] And the influence on the victims “.

After the investigation into Jessica's death, the inspector said, “We demanded more recognition of the connection between family abuse and suicide.”

Earlier this month, SKY News talks with Sharon Holland, where daughter Chloe took his life in 2023. Sharon urges the government to consider stronger sentences for those who have been convicted of forced control.

The detective is a 'difficult' that identifies forced actions, the detective said

The serious case review team at the Cheshire Police headquarters investigates the deaths in the domestic environment.

The team identifies some of the factors that can lead to suicide to improve their response to family abuse and prevent future deaths.

Detective Nikki Brown said, “Forced and controlled behavior is the highest risk indicator of suicide in Korea.

She said that it could be difficult for the authorities to identify the behavior. And police officers said they should ask “direct” questions.

Another common factor is “separation,” and after the relationship is over, the victim is vulnerable, while the perpetrator can last because it has lost its control.

Colin Charlesworth said, “They can't just let go.” “They are obsessed. And they want to make their lives unhappy. We lock them, send them, and they are still doing it in prison.”

Other factors identified in the report include mental illness health, alcohol and drug misuse.

'vicious'

VAWG (Jess Phillips, a minister of protection and violence against women and girls, said, “All deaths related to family abuse are short and deadly tragedy.”

“If you can better understand the connection between family abuse and murder, suicide and unexpected death, it would be better to not get up at first,” she added.

2:39 'Systematic approach' needed for family abuse

Philips vice president, along with Sky's political hub, talks with Sky's political hub, saying, “All the services that are trying to prevent this from happening are actually working.”

She continued to say:

The minister pointed out that the police had not suffered domestic violence as part of the performance data, so if you look at the “priority” of the incident that entered the police, it is a aspect of the current government's work.

“What we need to do is to find a place where the victims or perpetrators come from anywhere on the system and find a place known in the service. And this is about the government's strategy,” she added.

Anyone who feels emotionally or suicides can call the Samaritan people to ask for help from 116 123 or to send emails to jo@samaritans.org in England. In the United States, call the samaritans branch in that area or 1 (800) 273-Talk.
