Baller League CEO Felix Starck believes Premier League clubs will soon have a team to compete at the end of their most-watched season.

Now in its third season, Baller League UK is a six-a-side indoor football competition that brings together some of the country’s most exciting talent, led by Premier League legends, Women’s Super League stars and some of the country’s top influencers.

But Starc, who also oversaw the American and German versions of the competition, believes some professional clubs could participate in future seasons.

“I still think we’ll be seeing Premier League teams in the Bowlers’ League sooner rather than later,” Starc told Sky Sports ahead of Monday’s ‘Final Four’ tie at the O2 Arena.

“We have something that a lot of teams are missing. Future generations are consuming us. They have a lot of things that we are missing: our scouting system, our training ground, our history, our culture, our network.

“They certainly have more than we’re missing, but there’s one big thing they’re missing and everyone’s worried about, and that’s who’s going to be watching me in 15 years?”

“If Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City or Manchester United have six-a-side teams, they can send out 17-year-olds who are physically underdeveloped and play.

“Why not put them in a six-a-side team? Why not get some fans there and build a bridge for an 11-a-side team? I think we are now in a position of power to decide who comes in and who doesn’t.

“Two years ago, everyone was saying, ‘Felix, if you throw a ball like that at me, you’ll pass.’ I think things have changed now.”

The best defenders in the Premier League will struggle in the Bowlers’ League.

Front and center of Baller League’s success, they’ve tapped into celebrities from the past as well as big names from the social media world like KSI, AngryGinge and Chunkz to help engage football fans.

Sky Sports’ Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge lead ‘Deportrio’, while Premier League icons Alan Shearer and Ian Wright also manage their own teams.

Despite their involvement, the Baller League’s influence has raised quite a few eyebrows among football traditionalists, with its use of influencers and a unique set of rules that include regular ‘game changers’.

But Starc insists it is a completely different sport and cannot be compared to the 11-a-side game.

Daniel Sturridge and Micah Richards stepped in to separate the players after tensions rose during Deportrio’s clash with Prime FC.

So much so that the Bowler League CEO believes the best Premier League defenders will struggle in a completely different, smaller world of the game.

“People need to stop comparing six-a-side to 11-a-side,” Starck added.

“The best player in a small game might not play in the Premier League, but the best defender in the Premier League might not play in the Bowlers’ League.

“It’s two different sports and that’s what people need to understand. I’m not delusional to say we can fight the Premier League. It’s another sport and people need to stop comparing them because there’s no comparison.”
