COVID-19 cases nationwide exceed 100,000 for the first time since February
Cleveland — The COVID-19 pandemic is certainly not over, and the numbers continue to indicate it. Friday had the highest number of COVID-19 cases reported to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since February 6.
According to federal data, 101,171 new COVID-19 cases were reported to the CDC on July 30. This is the first time the United States has reported 100,000 cases a day in almost six months.
According to the CDC, there were 6,886 COVID-19 reports in the last seven days and 1,183 reports on July 30 in Ohio.
According to the CDC, national vaccination rates show that 69.7% of adults have been vaccinated at least once, and so far 610,873 COVID-19s have died during the pandemic.
In Ohio, 5,828,437 adults receive at least one COVID-19 vaccine, accounting for 49.9% of the state’s population.
