EU support is renewing WHO's partnership for universal health covering

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Union (EU) have renewed their cooperation to achieve a universal health covering by launching the Phase V (2025–2028) partnerships by Universal Health Coverge (UHC) – which is the largest platform for strengthening health care systems and progressing primary care. The announcement was announced today by the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef Síkel and the CEO of WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus on the Martins 80 80^th UN General Assembly New York.

Since its inception in 2011, the WHO UHC partnership has supported the Ministry of Health in the implementation of inclusive reforms and has contributed to improvement of management, providing services, health financing and emergency response to more than 115 countries. Key Phase V Priorities include:

• strengthening of health financing, management, reform and dialogue of politics for self -deprecating health systems;
• Strategic planning, placement of priority priorities and assessment of health care systems to improve the success of the health sector;
• Ensuring integrated, high quality, affordable services, including sexual and reproductive health and non -propelled diseases, through PHC approaches; and
• Promoting equality, gender equality and climate resistance.

The initiative is aligned with the Global Health Strategy of the EU -AI 14. The EU is committed to supporting countries in the development of resistant, fair and sustainable health systems.
