Shukri Abdi was swimming with other children. But he didn’t know how to swim. He arrived in the country just two years earlier as part of a United Nations relocation plan. His death sparked protests when he complained that his family had abandoned police investigations, accusing him of institutional racism, the family said, adding that the police had blinded him to the harassment suffered by Shukri. But today, a forensic scientist decided that the death was unexpected. And the Independent Police Gaming Office says Greater Manchester Police did not treat families less because of their ethnicity.
