According to a press release on Monday, the Cumberland County Public Health Service has immediately shut down the test site to increase the distribution of vaccinations.
Since December 18, the department has provided free COVID-19 tests twice a week at the Manna Church and the Second Missionary Baptist Church.
Dr. Jennifer Green, director of health, told ABC11 Michael Rosano, “I wanted to see if the staff was capable and the community was capable of testing, so it’s a decision I shouldn’t underestimate. When I felt comfortable there, I was able to move comfortably in that direction. “
Dr. Green said the department has been vaccinated with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines more than 3,500 times in the past few weeks. However, at that time, Phase 1A could only be distributed to more than 300 people.
“We’re still in the first stage, as we were vaccinated about a week or two after the hospital was vaccinated,” Green said.
A big gap that CCDPH wants to be able to fill with the help of 250 nurses and staff. According to Green, everyone is trained in distributing vaccines and running the site, so they can rotate and maintain the operations of other departments.
According to local health authorities, Cumberland County has a total of 14,430 COVID-19 cases, a total of 140 deaths and a positive rate of 15.4%.
Mr Green told ABC11 that there were still more than 20 free COVID-19 inspection sites in the county, making a more rational decision to close. She believes that losing some test sites will not have a significant impact on the data the department is collecting.
“There are many free and out-of-the-box test sites that are open to the public,” Green added.
CCDPH will receive another shipment of 975 Pfizer doses this week and will work to vaccinate first-time individuals and individuals returning for a second dose. The department also works to back up some test sites.
“We’re still going to continue working with state health vendors, they just don’t have health staff,” Green said.
Despite the county’s delay, Dr. Green told ABC11 that he hopes to catch up and will start Phase 1B next week alongside most of the states.

Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
