“Vaccine is urgently needed,” said the president of the University Health Network in Toronto about the dose of COVID-19-Toronto
The president of Toronto’s hospital system says there is a shortage of the University Health Network Coronavirus Vaccine by the end of the day on Friday.
“We’re running out of vaccines,” tweeted Dr. Kevin Smith, President and CEO of UHN.
According to Smith, the hospital system reserves 3,000 people per day for vaccination on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

On Friday, Premier Doug Ford said other hospitals in the York area, such as South Lake and Ottawa Hospital, had told him that they would run out of vaccine supplies by the weekend.

“All Ontario will be out of access to the Pfizer vaccine by the end of next week,” Ford said.
“Without them, the hospital would have to start canceling the reservation,” Ford continued. “And as the clinic waits for vaccines from the Federal Reserve, all the progress we have made, the increase in daily vaccine numbers, will be lost.”
As of 8 pm yesterday, the state said 4,053 people had been vaccinated twice. To date, Ontario has given 87,563 doses.
Ford said Ontario received more vaccine than any other state in Canada.
