Death of Tommy Dysart, actor of Goggomobil Yellow Pages and Prisoner
Tommy Dysart, the Scottish-Australian actor whose famous phrase Not the Dart entered the nations vernacular in the early 1990s, has died. He was 86 years old.
Dysart played mostly guest roles in many high-profile Australian television series and films, mostly in the 1960s through to the 1990s, with his biggest role as the corrupt and evil warden Jock Stewart in Prisoner.

But he is best known for the 1992 Yellow Pages TV ad as a frustrated enthusiast trying to repair his Goggomobil, a limited-run German-made micro-car.
As he sifts through yellow pages entries trying to find a mechanic stocking a part for his obscure pint-sized vehicle, he encounters people who either don’t know the make of the car or don’t understand. his accent.

He then spells out the name of the car, GOGGO…until, finally, he comes across someone who can help him.
Delighted, he then begins to chat with a mechanic familiar with the Goggomobil Dart model, but says: No, not the Dart, not the Dart.
The phrase entered everyday Australian speech, even though most people were unaware of what Not the Dart meant.
The actor was also known for a commercial for small business Don, with the teaser line Is Don. Is good.
Dysarts’ other roles included television shows skippy, Homicide, Division 4, Matlock Police, Cops Shop, All Together Now, Blue Heels and Neighbors, while his films included The Snowy River Man, Garbo and Flynn.
In Prisoner, in the early ’80s, he played guard Jock Stewart, who tells inmate Judy Bryant he was behind the murder of her lesbian lover.
Dysart was married to actress Joan Brockenshire, who played his wife in the Goggomobil advert, looking puzzled over her cup of coffee.
Dysart suffered a stroke on February 18.
He died on June 7, at the age of 86.
