Patrick Mahomes excited to work with Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy

Although the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII, the team struggled offensively for much of the 2023 season, particularly at receiver.

Kansas City addressed the position with two major moves this offseason by signing free agent Marquise Hollywood Brown and trading up to select Xavier Worthy.

Both Brown and Worthy bring an element of speed to the Chiefs offense, with Brown also benefiting from experience.

On Wednesday, quarterback Patrick Mahomes touted Brown's ability to track the ball down the field.

I think you all saw it today, I'm giving him chances on the field, and he's making the plays, Mahomes said during his press conference. The more he plays, the more he continues to give him these chances. [Hes] a good addition to our attack.

Worthy is dealing with a hamstring issue and was sidelined for Wednesday's OTA practice. But Mahomes always had a positive first impression of the young receiver.

I think you can tell how smart he is, he asks the right questions, Mahomes said. Before he had the hamstring problem, he was starting to work out.

Sometimes it's tough with these guys coming out of combined training and wanting to prove what they can do from day one and little injuries like that come up. We're going to be careful right now, he could probably get out if we really wanted him to. You can see he sits right next to the guys and asks all the right questions and every time he gets back on the field I'm excited to work with him.
