Stars collide at Grand Lake

TULSA, Oklahoma. Celebrities landed in Tulsa for a Grand Lake boxing event over Memorial Day weekend.

Celebrity Boxing Comic Con begins Friday and some Hollywood names go head-to-head.

Some of the attendees stopped at Brookside and spoke with 2 News.

Venokur will be the ringmaster, a new experience for him.

He told us about the cause of the nonprofit that helps veterans, first responders and children affected close to home: his hometown of Long Island, New York.

“He’s near and dear,” he said. “You know, I was in New York during 9/11. It means a lot to me.

Tommy Parker and his fiancée, Tami Erin, hosted the event.

Erin is known for starring in the 1988 film “The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking” as the title character. After meeting Parker during the pandemic, they settled in Green Country.
