Chopova Lowena wins the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund 2024

London-based womenswear brand Chopova Lowena has been named a winner of the British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund 2024.

Founded by Central Saint Martins graduates Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena in 2017, Chopova Lowena is known for her blend of folklore and sportswear-inspired design elements, as evidenced by her popular pinned, pleated kilt-style skirt and its use of unsold fabrics.

Designers will receive a cash prize of 150,000 ($190,000) and have access to mentoring. Ahluwalia, Knwls and Nensi Dojaka were among the labels shortlisted for the award.

This duo has built a real community around their brand and the cult following of their iconic snap skirts is a testament to what they do, Chioma Nnadi said, British Vogue responsible for editorial content.
