Authorities did not follow rules in manipulation of encryption, says IHC – Journal

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan's lawyer Advocate Salman Safdar has accused former Principal Secretary Azam Khan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of failing to follow rules for protecting secret documents, leading to led to the accusation of misplacement of the figure against Mr Khan.

Advocate Safdar argued before the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday that Azam Khan was required to monitor the movement of the confidential diplomatic cable and record its location as per Rule 6 (III) of the Secretariat Instructions . He claimed that Azam Khan did not follow the rules and did not keep a record of the secret document.

The lawyer also said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was required to conduct an investigation, inform the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and register an FIR under section 8.17 of the Security Manual for Classified Matters in government departments. However, the ministry did not follow the rules and Azam Khan's negligence led the FIA ​​to sabotage its own case by calling him as a prosecution witness.

Advocate Safdar concluded his arguments and the court adjourned further hearing till Wednesday (today). Retired Special Prosecutor Hamid Ali Shah will present his arguments starting today.

Notice sent to Adiala Prison Administration regarding Bushra Bibis petition; plea for transfer to prison rejected

The petition stated that Bushra Bibi was suffering from health problems and believed this was due to eating a poisoned meal. She also reported uneasiness in the sub-jail environment and requested that she be transferred to Adiala jail.

Meanwhile, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb issued notices to the government and the Adiala Prison administration regarding Bushra Bibi's petition against alleged violation of her rights.

Bushra Bibi claimed to have been poisoned and subjected to psychological torture at her residence in Banigala, which was declared a sub-prison.

The petition requested the court to ensure protection of his fundamental rights and allow his medical examination at Shaukat Khanam Memorial Hospital.

Separately, the court rejected a petition filed by Bushra Bibi requesting his transfer from his Banigala residence to Adiala prison due to lack of prosecution, as his lawyers remained absent during the hearing.
