Donald Trump suggests the White House owes him an apology for a 'mock trial'

Former President Trump said Friday night that he believes the “inner corridors” of the White House should apologize for the New York financial silence affair that Trump is facing, and that the affair should be abandoned.

“There is virtually universal agreement that Alvin Bragg's witch hunt against me, a TRIAL SIMPLY initiated and continued directly from the inner lobby of the White House and the DOJ, should be immediately dropped, with an apology to me and everyone else who had to live with this election interference hoax against Joe Biden's crooked political opponent,” Trump said Friday on his Truth Social website “Not nice!!!”

Trump is wrapping up another week of trials in New York, where he is making history as the first sitting or former president to face a criminal trial.

He has pleaded not guilty to charges that he falsified business records to conceal a hush money payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their alleged affair before the 2016 election.

Trump is under silencing on the matter, meaning his communication about the “mock trial” has been limited.

After attacking the judge's family and others, the silence order restricts what Trump can say about the legal proceedings and the people participating in them, including star witness Michael Cohen, who testified this week.

The former president won the support of Republican members of Congress this week, many of whom traveled from Washington to the New York courthouse to criticize the case. They say this case is an example of election interference because it's a way to keep Trump out of the election trial and out of President Biden's line of fire.
