Jokowi consistently supports two mandates for Prabowo-Gibran
The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo’s support for the two-term government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is once again in the spotlight.
This attitude resurfaced after the volunteer organization Barisan Voluntary Jokowi President (Bara JP) conveyed instructions allegedly coming directly from Jokowi.
Bara JP President Willem Frans Ansanay said his organization received a mandate from Jokowi to support the Prabowo-Gibran government for two terms. This statement was one of the results of the II Plenary Session of the DPP Bara JP held at Park Hotel Cawang, Cawang, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Saturday (23/5/2025).
Willem said Jokowi had instructed Bara JP to support Prabowo-Gibran for two leadership terms.
This statement is not the first time this has appeared. Previously, Jokowi also conveyed similar instructions to his volunteers last year. At that time, PDIP DPP Chairman Ganjar Pranowo also responded by stating that he appreciated Jokowi’s political position.
According to Ganjar, every citizen has the right to determine their political position. “I respect the political position of every citizen,” Ganjar said last Monday (22/9/2025).
However, at this time, Ganjar chose not to discuss the political direction of the 2029 elections. He believes it is more important to focus his attention on the condition of society.
Another response came from Golkar General Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia. In early 2026, Bahlil emphasized that the Golkar Party would support the Prabowo-Gibran government until it is completed.

“Golkar as a political party that supports President Prabowo-Gibran and Vice President Mas Gibran, the consequences for the party that supported it must support it until it is finished,” Bahlil told reporters at the Golkar Party DPP Office, Jakarta, Friday (6/2/2026).
Bahlil explained that Golkar’s support was based on the results of national deliberations that determined support for the government.
The support for both periods that Jokowi continues to provide also confirms the political orientation that he transmitted to the volunteers from the beginning, in addition to being part of the dynamic of political support for the Prabowo-Gibran government.
