Kaden Martin, LSU football, Lane Kiffin and Vols star Tee Martin’s son
Former Knoxville Catholic two-sport star Kaden Martin, the son of former Tennessee star quarterback Tee Martin, will join his father at LSU.
Kaden Martin announced on May 23 that he is transferring to LSU from MTSU, where he spent the past two football seasons. He will be part of coach Lane Kiffin’s first LSU football roster for the 2026 season.
This will be Martin’s fourth dual-sport school. He played baseball at Miami in 2022 and at ETSU in 2023, but only played two games total. He was on the MTSU football team in 2024-2025 but did not play a game.
His father, Tee Martin, was the Tennessee quarterback on the 1998 national title team and later a Vols assistant coach under Jeremy Pruitt in 2019-2020. Kiffin, the former Tennessee coach, hired Martin in March.
Tee Martin will be an offensive analyst at LSU after spending the past five seasons on the Baltimore Ravens staff as receivers coach and then quarterbacks coach.
LSU plays at Tennessee on Nov. 21. Notably, there is a statue of Tee Martin just outside Neyland Stadium.
Kaden Martin is also familiar with the UT. He attended Knoxville Catholic School and transferred halfway through his freshman year.
In his first season as a Catholic quarterback in 2019, Martin passed for 1,226 yards and 11 touchdowns and also rushed for nine touchdowns. In 2020, he passed for 1,379 yards with nine touchdowns and six interceptions, and rushed for nine touchdowns.
In baseball, Martin was named a Perfect Game All-American in 2021 after setting a Catholic record with 13 home runs.
After his freshman year at Catholic, he transferred to McDonogh School, a private school in Owings Mills, Maryland, for his senior year.
