New Delhi [India]May 27: Businesses must act quickly on artificial intelligence (AI) adoption despite global economic and geopolitical uncertainties, as any delay in decisions could slow down technology transformation efforts, Jacques Pommeraud, chairman and CEO of France-based IT services company Inetum, said Wednesday.

“When you are a CEO, you always see uncertainty and there is never good timing. There is always a crisis somewhere, there is always a geopolitical event happening or going to happen,” Pommeraud said on the sidelines of a memorandum of understanding signing event involving Inetum and AIONOS.

“Look at the last few years, we’ve had COVID, then Ukraine, then the Middle East. There’s always going to be something. So what I’m sure of, though, is not moving or acting, it’s too slow,” he added.

Pommeraud said businesses today are under pressure to quickly implement AI and other emerging technologies to meet growing customer demand.

“My responsibility is to make our business go fast, to help customers quickly as they ask us for new projects and to implement AI and many other technologies today. So we need to launch this today,” he said.

Pommeraud said companies are increasingly looking for AI-native technology services rather than traditional outsourcing models.

Inetum announced the launch of ‘Inetum India’, which Pommeraud described as an AI-native technology operation aimed at helping global customers implement enterprise software and AI-based solutions from India.

“What’s revolutionary and different for us is that it’s not just about building a team in India, it’s about building an AI-native team,” he said.

He said the company’s operations in India will focus on integrating AI into customer projects and enterprise software platforms such as SAP, Salesforce and ServiceNow.

Regarding large language models (LLM), Pommeraud said the company’s strategy is designed to remain flexible and independent of any single AI model vendor.

“The client wants to get something done, reduce costs, sell more, do better marketing, they use AI projects for that. The LLM, what’s under the hood, doesn’t actually matter as much,” he said.

Addressing concerns over data privacy and cybersecurity, Pommeraud said Europe’s strict regulatory frameworks, including AI law, shape the company’s approach to compliance and governance in AI-based projects.

“If customers want data localization, traceability or auditability, we provide it and in all cases we adopt the highest possible standards in the market,” he said.

Pommeraud also praised India’s tech ecosystem, saying the country remains one of the world’s strongest tech talent hubs and an attractive destination for global AI investments.

During the same event, CP Gurnani said India is emerging as a major force in the global artificial intelligence ecosystem, with continued investments in infrastructure and application development strengthening the country’s attractiveness for international technology partnerships.

Speaking at the official signing ceremony, Gurnani described Inetum as a European “powerhouse” with around 27,000 employees and a nearly $2.5 billion business. The partnership aims to provide global technology solutions and centers of excellence in Hyderabad, India.

“India alone is now a big wave in the world of AI,” he said, adding that AI-based systems and agentic AI solutions are now “here to stay” and will improve the productivity of individuals and businesses.
