I’d like to say, “What do you expect from the Scots Nats?” but the truth is that it’s rather a lot. I disagree with almost every syllable that comes out of a Scot Nat’s mouth – as a small island we three countries work much better together – but I didn’t think they were corrupt. Quite the contrary: I thought their determination to destroy the most successful political union in history was such that they would make sure everything else was perfectly clean. It seems not.
And while I don’t know if Nicola Sturgeon knew what her husband was doing, and she insists she didn’t, if my other half had crashed a brand-new camper van costing six figures into my mother-in-law’s driveway, I rather suspect I’d want to know where it came from.
If anything, it looks like Murrell was hiding in plain sight, telling a Shetland jeweler, “I’m the man with the money,” while he and his blushing fiancée were out shopping. Yes, my love, but it wasn’t yours.
My husband is Scottish and he told me that his own Scottish father advised him never to vote for a nationalist because they were second rate and better suited to the lower rungs of city hall.
Since Tony Blair began the destruction of the Union by creating a Scottish Parliament, nothing has convinced me otherwise. Frankly, my cat would have done a better job of handling Holyrood than that shower and at least she wouldn’t have run off with all the dosh.
As I have previously recounted here, my last encounter with a Scots Nat took place in Tunisia last year. She chose to travel to Tunis from Edinburgh via Frankfurt rather than Edinburgh via London, as she did not want to set foot on English soil.
It only added five hours to her trip, gave her neck and back pain, a lack of sleep that she never made up for, and she ended up leaving the tour early because she didn’t like “the vibe.”
Or, to put it another way, most of us were English. Scotland is a beautiful country and I am proud to wear a Scottish crest. Let’s save him from these madmen once and for all.
