Jokowi’s closest entourage provided clarification on the reasons for the former president’s absence from this major agenda. Jokowi’s aide, AKBP Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah, provided an official explanation on the developing situation on the ground.
According to Syarif, until the ceremony began, Jokowi did not receive any official notification or invitation to attend the event which took place in the Pejambon area.
“Until this morning, we had not received an invitation for Mr. Joko Widodo to attend the Pancasila birth commemoration ceremony, whether in the form of an official letter or other communication,” Syarif told reporters, Monday (1/6/2026).
This explanation also addresses speculation that has been circulating regarding health reasons or other goals that Jokowi might pursue in Solo and other areas.
Syarif pointed out that the lack of an invitation was the main reason why the seat of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia seemed empty in the row of honored guests.
