The U.S. military says Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait and Bahrain failed or were shot down, and that the United States launched strikes on an Iranian facility in response.

US Central Command said the strikes targeted an Iranian military control station on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz, which is home to a desalination plant.

Iran fired missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain, but they failed to hit their targets, the United States said. The two missiles fired at Kuwait collapsed en route, while U.S. and Bahraini forces intercepted the missiles aimed at Bahrain.

The escalation comes as President Donald Trump called suggestions that the United States and Iran are no longer holding peace talks “false and erroneous” and insisted that the two countries were “continuously talking.”

In an article on Truth Social, he added that the United States and Iran actually spoke to each other “four days ago, three days ago, two days ago, a day ago, and today.” But he also said he told Tehran: “It’s time, one way or another, for you to make a deal.” You’ve been doing this for 47 years, and it can’t go on!

British couple sentenced to 10 years in prison for ‘spying on Iran’ lose appeal

A British couple jailed in Iran for espionage have had their appeal rejected, their family have confirmed.

Craig and Lindsay Foreman, who deny the spying allegations, were sentenced to 10 years in prison in February.

Their family claims they were refused to appear at the appeal hearing. The two men were arrested in January 2025 while embarking on a world motorcycle tour through Iran.

Israel continues to strike Lebanon despite ceasefire announcement

Israel continued its strikes on a series of towns in southern Lebanon, Lebanese security sources said, despite a US-brokered partial ceasefire announced on Monday.

The announcement failed to reassure many Lebanese, 1.2 million of whom were displaced, and an Israeli drone over Beirut kept residents in suspense on Tuesday.

“Every time we return home, there is a warning that we will be displaced again,” said Faten Al Chehime, who fled to a displaced persons camp from her home in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Monday, just two weeks after returning there.

Iranian Guard attacks US Fifth Fleet headquarters and air base

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps attacked the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet as well as an air base and helicopters in a regional country using missiles and drones, Iranian media reported this morning.

The strikes were described as retaliation for the US attack on a communications tower south of Qeshm island.

The Guard Navy also targeted a ship it “identified as Panaya with missiles” in response to what it said was a U.S. attack on an Iranian oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz with a projectile that damaged the engine room, Iranian media reported.

“Disrupting the “security of the Strait of Hormuz” will bring a “heavy price” for the US military,” local media quoted “the IRGC” as saying.

study reveals how rising costs of Trump’s Iran war hit your home

The military conflict in Iran has cost U.S. households about $100 billion in total, primarily due to a sharp increase in energy costs following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, according to a new study from Moody’s Analytics.

The analysis indicates that the financial burden translates to approximately $750 per household since the start of the conflict in February. The military action, launched by President Donald Trump without congressional approval, caused oil prices to rise 35 percent.

According to AAA data, the national average price of regular gasoline sits at $4.29 per gallon, although prices remain high after climbing above $4.50. Costs continue to exceed $5 in six states following disruption to shipping lanes in the region.

US fires Hellfire missile at tanker heading towards Iran

The US military fired a Hellfire missile at an oil tanker heading towards Iran as part of the blockade imposed by Donald Trump.

U.S. Central Command released a video showing the missile hitting the Botswana-flagged M/T Lexie, and said it was aimed at the ship’s engine room, disabling it.

“The ship’s crew ignored repeated warnings, failing to comply with instructions from U.S. forces multiple times over a 24-hour period,” Central Command said in a statement.

“A US plane eventually disabled the ship by firing a Hellfire missile into the ship’s engine room, preventing the tanker from reaching Iran.

“The Lexie is the sixth ship that the US military has deactivated since it began its blockade of Iran on April 13.

US says Iranian attack on Bahrain, Kuwait failed

The US military has claimed that Iranian missile attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and other regional targets had been thwarted or failed, with diplomacy between Washington and Tehran showing little progress.

Two Iranian missiles fired at Kuwait failed or broke up in flight, while several ballistic missiles aimed at regional targets failed and three missiles heading toward Bahrain were intercepted, US Central Command said.

The US military also shot down Iranian drones targeting civilian ships in regional waters and US forces in Kuwait, and carried out strikes on the island of Qeshm near the Strait of Hormuz following attempted attacks by Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly attacked the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet, located in Bahrain, as well as an air base and helicopters in an unspecified regional country, using missiles and drones, in response to a US attack on a communications tower south of Qeshm.
