After Epstein’s arrest in 2019, his lawyers were in discussions with federal prosecutors about the idea of ​​a “proffer,” the Times reports, in which Epstein could provide useful information about other defendants in exchange for a more lenient sentence for himself.

It’s unclear how far those discussions progressed or who else Epstein might have had information about — although Epstein reportedly tried to determine whether he had “leverage” against associates like billionaire Bill Gates — but the Times reports that the late financier was “concerned” about trying to provide information about Trump, based on notes he took at the time.

Epstein’s notes suggest he actually had nothing remarkable about Trump – then during his first term – but only made vague comments like: “Trump is a total crook – window dressing” and “Never had any money.”

Epstein and Trump were previously friends before falling out in the early 2000s, but the president has long denied knowledge of Epstein’s alleged abuse or committing any wrongdoing toward the late financier.

The Times report was part of a broader narrative about Epstein’s time in prison and his death in prison, with new evidence supporting the conclusion that Epstein committed suicide and was not murdered, as some have suggested.

The Justice Department has not yet responded to a request for comment.

Best for all.” There are a number of circumstances that appear to make committing suicide by suicide easier for Epstein than would traditionally be the case for inmates, including the fact that he did not have a cellmate the night he died, that he was allowed to keep extra bed sheets — something that was generally not allowed — and that prison guards on duty did not conduct rounds as often as they were required to do.
