LAMPUNG – The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended the Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of DPD PSI Tulang Bawang, Lampung. On this occasion, Jokowi admitted that he came deliberately because he had closeness and love for the people of Lampung.
In front of party cadres, Jokowi expressed his appreciation to PSI General Chairman Kaesang Pangarep and the leadership of the central and regional levels who were considered serious in strengthening the party’s organizational structure down to the village level.
In particular, Jokowi highlighted the achievements of DPD PSI Tulang Bawang who completed the formation of structures down to the grassroots.
“Structure is very important for an organization. If we have a political machine down to the village level, it means we have great power to move and reach the community,” Jokowi said.
However, according to him, it is not enough for organizational strength to rely solely on structure. He stressed that the party structure must be alive, active and truly present in society.
Jokowi reminded ISP executives to strengthen proximity with residents through concrete actions in daily life.
“If a neighbor is grieving, come and mourn them. If someone is having a party, be there and be happy. If someone is sick, help them and accompany them. Simple things like this will build the reputation of PSI,” he said.
He believes that the presence of cadres in society will create the image that PSI is not only a political party, but also a companion of the people in various problems.
“The PSI must be present to monitor and support people, especially when they encounter difficulties,” he added.
Thanks to the combination of a strong party structure and real work on the ground, Jokowi is optimistic about PSI’s great chances of entering Parliament in the 2029 elections.
“I am sure that if all levels of the DPP, DPW, DPD, DPC up to the branch level work together and work hard, PSI will definitely be able to enter Parliament in 2029,” Jokowi emphasized.
He, however, reminded the party not to be complacent and to continue to set high targets so that the results obtained are maximum.
“We must have big goals and big aspirations. That is why everyone must work hard,” he concluded.
