On June 29, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng delivered a video speech at the opening ceremony of the 2026 China-US Baseball Exhibition Games and Sports Festival “Bond with Kuliang”.
Ambassador Xie said Kuliang’s story is a valuable chapter in the China-US friendship personally championed by President Xi Jinping. This reflects the genuine affection that has existed between the Chinese and American people for more than a century. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump had a fruitful meeting in Beijing, where they agreed on a new vision to build a constructive relationship of strategic stability between China and the United States. The event took place in Fuzhou, Fujian province. Peng Qinghua, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhou Zuyi, secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, and Zhao Long, governor of Fujian Province, attended the opening ceremony.
