Roy Suryo ready to face the second preliminary phase of the trial regarding the determination of the suspect

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The suspect in the alleged slander and defamation case regarding the authenticity of the diploma of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, Roy Suryo, said he was ready to face the second pre-trial at the South Jakarta District Court regarding the legality or otherwise of efforts to determine the suspect.

“Remember, we will continue to fight for this on Friday, there will be a second pre-trial,” Roy Suryo said after the pre-disposition hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday.

He said the second pretrial phase of the trial would be part of the legal efforts his legal team was still pursuing.

The South Jakarta District Court will hold Roy Suryo’s preliminary hearing to determine whether efforts to determine the suspect are legal on Friday (10/7) morning at 09:00 WIB.

The application file will be explained later by the legal team.

“The second preparation will take place on Friday (10/7), and the content will be presented later,” he said.

Roy also assured that he would continue to follow the main trial process which would be held at the East Jakarta District Court.

“Today we completed the pretrial phase of the trial in South Jakarta. We will also follow the main case later in East Jakarta,” he said.

Apart from this, Roy revealed that his legal team had filed a Complaint Against the Law (PMH) at the North Jakarta District Court.

“But yesterday we filed a complaint at PMH in North Jakarta against a man named Lecumana,” he said.

Roy felt the pretrial ruling read by the judge was the start of a fight for a legal process he thought was better. He also expressed gratitude to the single judge who heard the case.

South Jakarta District Court Single Judge I Ketut Darpawan partially granted Roy Suryo’s pre-trial motion by ruling that the search, arrest and detention carried out by Polda Metro Jaya was invalid.

However, the judge rejected Roy’s request to have the investigative file declared invalid as well as the prosecutor’s request not to issue a detention order because he found it was outside his pre-trial powers.
