How Netanyahu sued the Turkish president against Trump

US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by telephone on July 9, after Trump returned from the NATO meeting he attended in Ankara, Turkey.
During the phone call, Netanyahu complained to Trump about Turkey.
French news agency AFP reported that Netanyahu accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ilk of “making statements against the existence of the State of Israel and calling for drawing a security line on the borders of the State of Israel.”
Additionally, Netanyahu earlier this week called on the United States not to sell modern F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that “the accusations spread these days by Israeli government officials are baseless and aimed at spreading lies.”
“Netanyahu and his people deliberately turn all complaints against them as part of their propaganda,” the statement said.
During his meeting with President Erdogan on July 7, Donald Trump told reporters that some sanctions would be lifted on Turkey and that the United States was considering selling F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.
Trump said “that’s a step we’re considering taking. It’s a good plane, it’s greatly increased the number of other planes, and we’re considering it (selling to Turkey).”

On July 8, during a press conference after the conclusion of the NATO summit, Erdogan responded to a question from a representative of the Reuters news agency by saying: “US President Donald Trump said ‘he has not made a decision’ regarding the sale of the F-35 fighter jet to Turkey. What did he tell you? he responded to her by saying “listen to what happens next”.
In 2019, Turkey was excluded from the F-35 production program despite being one of the countries that founded it. This was done after Turkey purchased the S-400 air defense system from Russia.
America didn’t say a word
There is still no official statement from the United States on this matter.
A U.S. government official said the conversation did take place, but did not specify what was discussed.
On July 9, the US Wall Street Journal cited unspecified sources as saying that Israel had informed the United States that its security and intelligence agencies had uncovered an Iranian government plan to kill President Trump.
Netanyahu is expected to travel to the United States next week to meet with President Trump at the White House.
