Organized crime officer says drugs found on table and in bedroom at Rewa Street house

Josua Cakausese, head of the Organized Crime Department, said illegal drugs were found on a table and in another room of a house located at Lot 134, Rewa Street on September 23, 2025.

Testifying at the hearing, Cakausese said that when they arrived at the scene, the house was locked and a Palau Islander was inside.

He says when Ginna Choi arrived, he explained to them the reason for the search.

He says cash was also seized.

During cross-examination, defense attorney Jerry Dinati questioned Cakausese about whether Choi was found in possession of drugs on Lot 170, and Cakausese agreed she was not.

He also admitted that they searched the house without a search warrant.

However, during re-examination by State Counsel Eoghn Samisoni, Cakausese explained that Section 22 of the Illicit Drugs Control Act allowed them to do so.

Yu Yang Feng, Minghui Dai and Zhou Lan are each charged with one count of unlawful possession of illegal drugs for allegedly being found in possession of 39.509 grams of methamphetamine.

Lan is also charged with possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of crime, as he was allegedly found with $7,180 FJD, $60 US dollars, $1,520 Hong Kong currency and 1,600 Chinese yuan.

Feng is also charged with illegal supply of illegal drugs.

It is alleged that on September 23, 2025, without legal authority, Feng engaged in dealings with others for the transportation and supply of methamphetamine.

He is also charged with possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

Feng was allegedly found with $906.25 in cash.

Choi and Peniasi Delai are charged with one count of unlawful possession of illegal drugs for allegedly being found in possession of 0.345 grams of methamphetamine.

The hearing will continue on Monday.
