England claimed a seven-wicket win over New Zealand in their opening T20 match, with Alice Capsey playing a big role. The 21-year-old opened the batting for the hosts in Derby and led England’s chase of 137 with an unbeaten 74 from 51 balls. After the one-day international 1-1 draw, the three-match T20 series continues in sunny Canterbury. Aldred asked has over-by-over coverage while reporter Raf Nicholson wears sunglasses and a floppy sun hat at the St Lawrence Ground.
Scottish Cup Final
3:00 PMCeltic v Dunfermline live
Neil Lennon and Martin O’Neill will meet again in Saturday’s cup final. Pars manager Lennon, a former Celtic boss, played under O’Neill at Leicester and Celtic and described him as “by far the biggest influence on his career”. The pair will compete against each other in Scotland’s showpiece event in Hampden. Lennon’s Championship side knocked out three Premiership sides on their way to the final and the 54-year-old was in an optimistic mood this week, saying: “I wouldn’t want to sack us. We are the underdogs, but the underdogs bite.” Barry Glendenning is our blog host with Ewan Murray reporting.
Championship play-off final
4:30 PMHull v Middlesbrough live
The richest football game in the world is overshadowed by the Southampton ‘spygate’ saga. Saints were kicked out of the Championship play-offs this week after admitting spying on opponents’ training sessions, with defeated semi-finalists Middlesbrough reinstated. Boro accused Southampton of sniffing them out before the first leg of their play-off semi-final earlier this month. A photo appeared of a man standing behind a tree, apparently recording images with his phone. The toll the scandal has taken will soon become clear on Saturday afternoon during a play-off final like no other. Scott Murray hosts the blog, with our reporting team at Wembley, Ben Bloom And Jonathan Wilson, throwing off their wigs and fake mustaches.
Women’s Champions League final
5 p.m Live Barcelona vs OL Lyonnes
It is the fourth time in eight seasons that the great powers play for the European title. In the new format of the competition, they were level in the 18-team standings in December and are unbeaten in domestic competitions this season, with both chasing a quadruple of trophies. It is Barcelona’s sixth consecutive final – and seventh in eight years – in an era defined by Aitana Bonmatí and Alèxia Putellas. Lyon returns with Wendie Renard and Ada Hegerberg, the captain and hat-trick scorer respectively when Barcelona were defeated 4-1 in the 2019 final. There is an extra layer of intrigue in the dugouts: Lyon coach Jonatan Giráldez won back-to-back Champions League titles in Barcelona when the Catalan club’s current coach, Pere Romeu, was one of his assistants. Will win liveblogs the final, with Suzanne Wreck reporting.

5:00 PM and 9:00 PMCanadian GP sprint race and qualifying live
With victory in the last race in Miami, Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli was able to build a twenty-point lead in the standings after four races. The 19-year-old Italian has won three in a row. His teammate George Russell must now chart a path back to the front of the field at the Canadian Grand Prix after missing out on the podium in Florida. Canada offers the chance for a big points swing, with a maximum of eight points up for grabs in the sprint race. Antonelli’s lead grew in Miami as McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull made upgrades that helped them fight for the podium places. Now it’s Mercedes’ turn to provide upgraded parts for the car that has won all four Grand Prix races so far in 2026. Philip Cornwall live blogs the sprint race and qualifying, with Giles Richards reporting.

Coco Gauff is finding form at just the right time for her title defense at the French Open, and with Aryna Sabalenka hampered by injury and things not clicking for Iga Swiatek, the American has a golden opportunity to claim a third Grand Slam. After dealing with illness and a fourth-round loss in Madrid, Gauff bounced back and reached the final of the Italian Open, where she met the inspired Elina Svitolina. Despite leaving Rome without the trophy, the 22-year-old American took heart from her performance and said it would stand her in good stead when the French Open gets underway on Sunday. Her first assignment is against compatriot Taylor Townsend and Daniel Harris has the latest at the helm of our rolling blog, with Toemaini Carayol coverage of Roland Garros.
League One play-offs final
1 p.m Bolton vs Stockport live
County are bidding to reach the second tier for the first time since 2002, just four years after being promoted from the National League. Wanderers, meanwhile, are old hands at this play-off malarky, with this being the sixth time Bolton has reached the EFL play-off final in the Championship and League One. That said, both attempts at promotion to the third tier have ended in defeat, losing 1-0 to Tranmere in 1991 and 2-0 to Oxford in 2024. Emilia Hawkins joins as blog host, with Billy Munday reporting.
Premier League
4:00 PMLive Tottenham-Everton
Spurs’ relegation battle is on the rocks after they lost 2-1 at Chelsea on Tuesday to remain just two points above 18th-placed West Ham. The pressure is on the Hammers, who need to beat Leeds and need Tottenham to lose at home. Everton have collected more points than they have at home this season and Spurs have won just once at home in the league since the opening weekend, so it doesn’t bode well for Roberto De Zerbi’s wobbling crowd. An ever-present in the Premier League since the first division’s name change in 1992, Spurs last played in the second tier in the 1977-78 season. So hold on tight, with Scott Murray a steady hand to the live blog helmer, and David Hytner And Jonathan Wilson reporting from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Premier League
4:00 PMLast day clock
Emotions will certainly run high in the final round of a season in which Arsenal won their first title since 2004 on Tuesday. There are plenty of stories to work through if all 10 games are played simultaneously. In addition to the relegation battle between Spurs and West Ham (see above), there is farewell to Mohamed Salah, Bernardo Silva and Pep Guardiola. Salah will want a big farewell in his final match, against Brentford at Anfield, but Arne Slot could be forgiven for dropping the striker after his latest outburst. It is still an important match for fifth-placed Liverpool, who need a point to guarantee qualification for the Champions League. Bournemouth, who face Nottingham Forest, are three points behind in sixth place and have an inferior goal difference of six. Meanwhile, Guardiola is leaving Manchester City after ten glorious years. Expect strong feelings at the Etihad ahead of City’s home match against newly crowned Europa League champions Aston Villa. Simon Burnton has all the storylines at the helm of our rolling blog.
Formula one
9 p.mLive Canadian Grand Prix
The signs are good for Kimi Antonelli. Any driver who has won four or more consecutive Grands Prix has been an F1 champion at some point in their career. However, history does offer some encouragement for his teammate George Russell. The only time in F1 history that a driver won four consecutive races in a season, but not the title, came in 2016 when Lewis Hamilton was defeated by his then Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg. More recently, Oscar Piastri won three in a row for McLaren last year and still lost to teammate Lando Norris. Still, there are severe weather forecasts for Sunday, so expect thrills and spills Alexander Abnos runs our lap-by-lap blog.
