Sterling Park District offers tips for staying safe in the summer sun – Shaw Local
Summer is the perfect time to enjoy parks, trails, sports and outdoor activities in Sterling, but warmer temperatures and longer days also make safety and hydration in the sun more important than ever.
Whether families spend the day at the playground, participate in recreational competitions, or simply enjoy time outdoors, a few simple precautions can keep everyone safe and comfortable throughout the summer months.

Designed to be approachable for beginners, yet competitive and engaging for experienced players, TYPTI emphasizes movement, coordination and fun for players of all levels.
The Park District will host a free Intro to TYPTI event for people 16 and older on Saturday, June 27 from noon to 2 p.m. on the pickleball courts in Building 3 of the Westwood Sports Center. Equipment will be provided, but space is limited, so register early.
