Massachusetts Hockey’s Michael Hrabal named CSC Third Team Academic All-American
A 2025-26 CCM/AHCA Hockey East First Team All-American, Hrabal was named a 2026 New England All-Star, winner of the 2026 Leonard Fowle Award (New England MVP) and a finalist for the 2026 Mike Richter Award (National Goaltender of the Year). He was also named Hockey East Player of the Year, Hockey East Goalkeeper of the Year and a unanimous Hockey East First Team All-Star selection. Prague, Czech Republic signed an entry-level contract with the Utah Mammoth at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Hrabal put together a stellar second half of 2025-26, helping the Minutemen jump from last place to second in the Hockey East standings. As of Jan. 1, the three-time Hockey East All-Star went 13-4-1 with four shutouts, a 1.33 GAA and a .959 save percentage. He allowed just two goals or fewer in 16 of those 18 games.
Overall, Hrabal was 19-9-1 with a 1.95 GAA and 837 saves, for a .937 save percentage over 29 games in net. He finished his season third in the country in save percentage, fifth in GAA and sixth in shutouts. A consecutive winner of National Goaltender of the Month, Hrabal collected four weekly awards from Hockey East and was named Hockey East Player of the Month for January and Goaltender of the Month for February.
Hrabal has made 30-plus saves 10 times this season, surpassing the 40-save mark three times, including a career-high 50 stops against UConn on Feb. 28. The netminder finished Hockey East play with a 12-5-1 record and four shutouts to go along with a 1.55 goals against average and a .952 save percentage. He led all Hockey East goaltenders in GAA and save percentage, finishing just .001 behind the league record in the latter.
In his three-year career in a UMass uniform, Hrabal played in 95 games and totaled 5,635 minutes, compiling a record of 54-33-7 with eight shutouts. His career save percentage (.925) and goals against average (2.32) rank third, while his win total ranks second all-time in program history. He recorded 2,661 career saves, good for fourth all-time.
